Artistic ambition is hard to realise without knowing how to manage your career effectively.
Since 2019, I have taught promotion and marketing in culture, artistic entrepreneurship and cultural event management at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice — the institution from which I graduated.
The Academy is an important part of Katowice’s musical life and one of Poland’s leading centres of music education. As both an alumnus and a practitioner, I help students understand how to manage their own artistic practice and develop the skills they need to do so.
Combining the Academy’s high standard of artistic education with an honest conversation about the realities of the music sector helps students find their own path forward.
What I teach
My classes cover promotion and marketing in culture and artistic entrepreneurship. They connect artistic identity with practical questions: how to communicate your work, understand your audience, prepare an offer and organise your professional practice.
Connecting study with professional practice
I draw on experience gained in managing artists’ careers, programming festivals and working internationally. My educational practice also includes guest lectures, masterclasses and training delivered through specialist academies and summer courses.
